Gate Ruler Set 4 | O. 15 Exvaders and D. 4 Supernatural

Hello everyone and welcome back to another Gate Ruler article. Today we are going to be doing something slightly different. Specifically, we will review a couple of decklists/archetypes which although have received upgrades, ultimately not enough changed (in terms of playstyle) to warrant an entirely new detailed write-up on them. As such, I will link back to previous profiles, so you do not have to go looking for the detailed analysis already provided.

D. 4 Supernatural Dreadnought

As Drive rulers are making somewhat of a comeback, it would be prudent to review one of the more stable archetypes that emerged during set 3, namely Supernatural Dreadnought. By utilising, the ‘March of the Yokai‘ ability package, the deck was capable of driving into attack, after attack, after attack thus overwhelming an opponent’s potential defenses. While not a lot may have changed, the deck has assuredly become more consistent in its execution.

O. 15 Rainbow Exvaders

Back and bigger than ever, both C’thulu and Hastur want to ensure that none of their followers entertain any thoughts of desertion. With multiple different colour combinations, this particular ‘Overlord Exvader’ archetype can be adjusted to fit a number of varying playstyles.

The Yomajin Front variant is focused on disruption and removal. Capable of destroying center units and calling back Noisemaker with Festival of Flowing Lanterns, the elimination combo with Vamha becoming incredibly consistent thusly.

On the other hand, the Wonderverse variant focuses primarily on putting forward a stalwart defense, thus affording the deck additional time to utilise an extremely optimal combo setup.

Last but not least, there is the Volnar variant. Perhaps the weakest of the three, it nonetheless does afford the player superior draw power, in addition to the all-important graveyard disruption with skystrike arrow.

Final Thoughts

Even though they received some support, let us hope that these decks receive a little more in the future thus taking them several steps beyond their present ‘competitive’ tier status. Regardless, they are still plenty of fun to play, and much like before I do strongly encourage you to adapt them to your playstyle, even beyond the present builds.

Thank you for reading and I do sincerely hope you enjoyed this write-up.
